International School Aberdeen will welcome visitors to tour the school this weekend as part of the city-wide Doors Open Day.
ISA is celebrating 50 years since it first officially opened its doors to the first staff and students in August 1972. As Scotland’s first international school, ISA has a global approach to education with firm roots in the North-east with almost half of its 500-student population coming from the local area.
Visitors attending the Doors Open Day at ISA this Saturday (September 10), will have the opportunity to tour the purpose-built campus at Pitfodels House and learn about the school’s rich history in the Granite City. The campus includes a 25m swimming pool, climbing wall, five science labs, three performing arts studios and a 300-seat theatre, and a state-of-the-art sports complex.
Guided tours will be taking place on the hour every hour.
Doors Open Day allows access to buildings which are usually closed to the public and ISA is one of a number of venues taking part across Aberdeen.
Head of School at ISA, Nick Little, said, “We are delighted to be celebrating our 50th
anniversary this year and very much looking forward to welcoming visitors to our campus to see our impressive facilities for themselves.
“ISA is such a special place and we are incredibly proud of our beautiful campus. We warmly welcome families and visitors from the local area to come along and see what we have to offer.”
Visitors are welcome at ISA from 10am-2pm.
