International SOS social committee raises over £1,100 for local Aberdeen charity

North-east charity, Instant Neighbour, has received a donation of £1,100 from staff at leading medical travel and security risk services company, International SOS, which will go towards supporting vulnerable people across Aberdeen.

The amount donated is part of the £2,100 raised in the last 12 months by the company’s Aberdeen-based social committee, who organised several events including sporting challenges, bake sales and a raffle at the Christmas party.

Dr Michael Braida, regional medical director at International SOS said: “I am proud of our social committee, who work in their own time to build a programme of events to assist local charities.

“It is especially important to support Instant Neighbour in the festive season as they provide vital services within our community, with many people relying on the emergency food parcels they prepare.

“They also provide clothing, toys, nappies and baby food for families and give health promotion advice to encourage healthy eating and giving up smoking in order to improve families’ general health.

Sophy Green, chief executive of Instant Neighbour, said: “We are absolutely thrilled to have received such a generous donation from International SOS. This donation will go towards funding our vital services which are used on a daily basis by our growing client base.

“The charity relies heavily on the generosity of people across the North-east. We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone at International SOS for their generosity, especially at this time of year, and wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from Instant Neighbour.”
