Aberdeen Archives, Gallery and Museums announce a new concert series especially for music lovers. Classics @ the Cowdray features an irresistible blend of classical and popular music performed by the Aberdeen-based Nova Quartet at Cowdray Hall.
The new series opens on Friday 16 February celebrating Valentine’s Day with an evening of romance, including popular songs by The Monkees, The Beatles and Carly Simon paired with classical favourites such as Méditation
(Thaïs), the Flower Duet (Lakmé), and Clair de lune. In March, an evening of music inspired by the latest period drama Bridgeton features hits by Harry Styles and Taylor Swift alongside music by Haydn and Vivaldi. The whole family can enjoy a selection of movie classics in April, showcasing tunes from James Bond to Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and Interstellar to Frozen.
Nova Quartet features musicians Nataliia Naismith and Erin Smith (violin), Emma Alexander (viola) and Gareth John (cello). The North East-based quartet trained at prestigious European conservatoires and have performed in some of the world’s most beautiful concert halls. They are looking forward to taking audiences on a magical journey through music at Cowdray Hall.
