IntrospeXion, the Aberdeen-based psychological support provider, has partnered with a north-east recovery house to provide specialist clinical and therapeutic support to people transitioning from rehabilitation back into everyday life.
The first partnership of its kind in the region, IntrospeXion will work alongside Pasos Recovery House (Pasos), a family-run, non-clinical sober guest house in Aberdeen City Centre. The agreement will create synergy between both service providers, combining IntrospeXion’s clinical and psychological expertise with the safe, supportive living environment provided by Pasos.
Founded by Margaret and Andy Schweitzer, who have more than 30 years’ combined experience of long-term recovery, Pasos was established in response to their own lived experiences and their understanding of the challenges people face when leaving residential treatment. Research indicates that relapse is common during addiction recovery, with the National Institute on Drug Abuse reporting that between 40-60% of people who receive treatment will relapse following treatment.

IntrospeXion and Pasos will offer guests access to ongoing therapeutic support during what can be one of the most challenging stages of the recovery journey. IntrospeXion's involvement will include one-to-one counselling and psychological support from its qualified practitioners to help guests maintain recovery, rebuild confidence, manage triggers, and develop healthy coping strategies. This provides continuity of therapeutic care while guests begin rebuilding their routines, relationships, and independence.
With extensive experience supporting individuals experiencing addiction recovery and wider mental health challenges, IntrospeXion's counsellors are registered with the National Psychology and Counselling Society and provide professional, person-centred support tailored to the individual needs of each client. Services will be delivered offsite from Pasos, at IntrospeXion's own Aberdeen facilities or online.
