Inverurie Locos have announced plans to turn their ground into a £20million retail park as the club explores plans to open a new stadium.
The Highland League side has partnered with Forrest Lure Ltd, which would take over the site and redevelop it into a retail park, ending the club’s 124-year stay at Harlaw Park.
Locos are considering relocating to land at the Garioch Sports Centre which would create a new "community stadium".
The proposal depends on the purchase of the vacant Harlaw Centre site opposite the ground, which is owned by Aberdeenshire Council.
A bid from the Locos-backed Forrest Lure joint venture is due to be decided this week.
Club officials said major retail chains have already shown interest in the development, which they claim could create around 250 permanent jobs in Inverurie.
