Here he shares some useful tips to save on your parcel deliveries:
1. Packing your Goods
The smaller and lighter the shipment, the less you pay. Most carriers charge by weight and dimensions, so choose a box to suit the size of your item. Your goods should also be well packaged... they will be travelling via a mass package transport system.
2. Express or Saver?
How quickly do you need it to arrive? If you can spare a couple of days, and ship it on a slower service, you can save even more.
3. Right Delivery Address
Incorrect addresses cause the carriers major problems, and they may make charges for Re-delivery, Address Correction or Return to Sender.
4. Out of Area Surcharge
If you are sending to an address outside the normal delivery areas, there may be a Surcharge. Your InXpress consultant can check which carrier covers these areas as a standard delivery area.
5. Insurance
We all know the warning ‘Please ensure your goods are securely packaged and clearly labelled to ensure safe delivery’. You can insure your goods against loss or damage; but if you don’t pack them adequately, they may not be covered. Check with your InXpress Consultant what goods can be insured and the conditions of insurance; and don’t forget to make sure that the receiver checks the condition of the goods and notes any damage on delivery, otherwise your insurance will be invalid.
