It’s been quite a few weeks for ITC, with the company being named “Business of the Year” at the Scottish Women’s Award and its MD, Tracy Clark, the “Businesswoman of the Year” at both the Scottish SME Business Awards and the Business Women Scotland Awards (BWSAs).

These awards recognise the efforts by ITC and its staff over the very challenging recent years and the outstanding impact that Tracy has had on the business landscape in Scotland and her leadership to overcome these challenges to build a successful business and provide inspiration for the next generation.

ITC Hydraulics was launched by Tracy and her husband, Ian, in 1999. It has since developed and grown, working with clients around the world. Last year, ITC opened a new facility for its hydraulic division in Barra Business Park, near Oldmeldrum and moved its fabrication and machining division into their previous premises at St Katherines, between Fyvie and Oldmeldrum. The company was granted “Fit 4 Offshore Renewables” status this summer by ORE Catapult.

Ms Clark, who previously served as chief financial officer and chief operating officer, took over the responsibilities of managing director in 2018, said “This recognition for both the company and me is amazing. I can’t thank the staff enough for all their efforts. I work with a lot of men and feel it’s taken a long time for some of them to take me seriously. I hope these awards help women not to be so scared to run these types of businesses.”
