ITC were delighted to have been given this recognition for their staff skills development programme at the OAA awards. ITC were shortlisted alongside Wood and Peterson, both large multi-national companies with Wood the category winner. The event, held at the P&J Live, was well attended with over 400 people and hosted by Countdown’s Rachel Riley.

ITC Hydraulics and Manufacturing is a specialist engineering company providing in-house design, engineering, fabrication, machining and manufacturing services to the oil and gas, Marine, Renewable, Waste, Forestry and Industrial sectors.

ITC is committed to providing industry leading skill development opportunities for their employees. Skills development is actively encouraged across a board spectrum including, key supplier training workshops, specialist technical skill, and external degree courses. ITC also looks to the broader community with summer placements, both for school students and university undergraduates.

Employing 25 staff, across its two sites in Oldmeldrum and St Katherines, the company has achieved significant growth over the years, winning a large number of new equipment build contracts as well as major refurbishment projects.

A key part to the company’s skills development strategy is the adoption of apprentice schemes whether for technical, management or professional skills. Over the last five years, eight members of ITC staff (over 30%) have participated with four already completed and continuing on with further education.

Skills development is not limited to junior staff members with long term and senior roles all supported with required training which will benefit their career prospects as well as expanding ITC’s resource capability. This has covered areas such as Lead Auditor, NEBOSH, IOSH, Customs, ATEX and a variety of specific technical courses.

Tracy Clark, Managing Director and co-owner commented “to gain this recognition in a category with such large organisations who have many thousands of personnel is a fantastic achievement. At ITC we really value the development of all of our staff and this award reflects all of their hard work and efforts.”
