It’s not all doom and gloom in the North-east

Aberdeen based IT specialists ITWORX have recently announced the appointment of two new employees to further strengthen the level of experience and expertise of the in-house engineering team and service desk.

As we are all too aware, the Oil & Gas sector is experiencing one of the most dramatic downturns in living memory and the knock on effects are being felt across all sectors and the country as a whole.

But it’s not all ‘Aber-doom’ says company Director, Philip Mowatt. “Perhaps we have just been lucky in that we are already in the middle of major changes in the IT sector as customers and many businesses are adopting the performance benefits and significant cost reductions that ‘Cloud Technologies’ are bringing to bear. Or perhaps our approach to marketing and communications are striking a cord with North East SME and Enterprise companies alike but whatever the reason, ITWORX has seen its client base increase with the addition of 9 new clients in the first 6 months of our 2015/2016 financial year”.

One element of this continued success is the total belief in customer service. A belief that is held right across the company. First rate customer service is unequivocally & irrevocably fundamental if the company is to continue to achieve its goals.

Gaining new clients is excellent but obviously presents increased pressure in maintaining and improving on existing levels of customer satisfaction. In order to address this escalation in demand ITWORX is delighted to announce the appointment of Systems Technician’s, Tom Tiulemba and Craig Uwins, who between them have in excess of twenty years IT experience and further enhance the depth and width of systems knowledge of the team.

Now in its 6th year of business ITWORX goes from strength to strength and the two new staff appointments is very good news in what has been a depressed market.

While, the local economy is not out of the woods as yet, we have been experiencing an air of optimism; a quiet confidence emanating from our clients that possibly, we are beginning to see greens shoots of recovery and we can hopefully move forward with a positive outlook?

One relatively new technology that is causing positive impact with our existing and potential clients is that of our Cloud based backup and business continuity solution, Datto.

Ransomware, is on the increase and reported to be up five-fold from 2015 figures, costing businesses and individuals in excess of £250million. Some 700,000 users have been affected and the industry is quite certain that this is the tip of the ice-berg as not everyone will have reported every incident. It is more important than ever to ensure your business has adequate backup and business continuity as the latest outbreak of Crypto Locker is a particularly nasty strain and unless appropriate recovery methods are in place then this latest version could easily cripple vulnerable or the un-prepared.

ITWORX a specialist IT and Communications managed services provider, experienced in defeating Ransomware through deploying Datto – a purpose built cloud and family of software & hardware devices which provide total data protection wherever an organisations Data resides. Whether it is on-site in a physical or virtual server, in the cloud or in SaaS (software as a service), applications. Datto offers end to end recoverability within minutes.

This is an Enterprise backup and business continuity solution at SME pricing.

Jill Ross, Director ITWORX said: Datto is a game changer, it is a low cost, simple but highly effective solution that could save some business from very serious consequences. The alternatives for those that don’t have this protection from criminal cyber activity are very limited. You will either have to stretch in to the payment demands or face starting from scratch. Personally, I think it is better to have backed up rather than pay up”.

Philip Mowatt, Director ITWORX said: “This is a unique technology that is unrivalled in the market, it is a solution that is simple, effective and it works. The implementation is relatively easy but most importantly it will help businesses of all sizes to avoid a devastating loss of business data”.
