Plans to transform the former John Lewis building into a huge go-karting track and entertainment hub have finally been given the green light.
The major development, which was waved through at yesterday's council planning meeting, has been tipped to revive George Street's lure and create a "Belmont Street-style buzz", The Press and Journal reports.
Work to refit the iconic Norco House building can now get underway, with councillor's reportedly hoping the development will kickstart the regeneration of George Street as a whole.
In voting through the plans, officials noted the boost to footfall it would bring to the area.
Under the plans, go-kart tracks will span the second and third floors of the building, while there would also be a "laser arena" and potentially a restaurant.
The First floor walkway link to the Bon Accord Centre will also be reopened.
