Johnston Carmichael, Scotland’s largest independent accountancy and business advisory firm, has expanded its leadership team with a promotion in its Inverurie office. The move is part of a continued strategy to attract and retain the best talent from across the industry.
Emma Waterman, who joined Johnston Carmichael in 2016, has been promoted to the position of partner. With a varied portfolio of corporate and unincorporated businesses, Emma became a director in 2017 and, earlier this year, became responsible for leading the Inverurie office.
She joins three other colleagues being promoted in the firm’s leadership team across Scotland: Stewart Pennington and Suzanne Brownie who both work in the Edinburgh office and have been made partner and director respectively; and Ewan Bolt who was also promoted to director and is based in the Inverness office.
The promotions are effective from December 1.

Johnston Carmichael has 13 offices across the UK, including the recently opened London, and Dundee offices. The promotions bring the total number of partners at Johnston Carmichael to 63.
