Energy Voice are to host an event that asks how Aberdeen can secure and retain the capital and workforce required to maintain it’s spot as the energy capital of Europe.

Invest Abz returns to The Chester Hotel, Aberdeen as a breakfast event on the May 9, from 7am.

The 2023 Invest Abz event discussed how to secure Aberdeen’s position as a driver of sustainable growth and Europe’s energy capital.

Bob Ruddiman, Head of Energy at Burness Paul and speaker at Invest Abz 2023 said: “There’s huge commitment to the premise of Aberdeen as Europe's Energy capital, I think there is no complacency around what that means and I think we had a very good discussion around the skills, the capital and the policy required to deliver that.”

The 2024 breakfast event promises to be a thoughtful follow-up to that debate, offering insight from an illustrious panel of speakers and practical advice via an exclusive workshop, hosted by training body ECITB.

The 2024 panel of speakers includes Stephen Flynn, MP for Aberdeen South and SNP Westminster Leader. Andrew Hockey, CEO of ECITB will also join the panel as well as hosting a workshop on innovation, skills and training.

Other speakers include Professor Paul de Leeuw, Director for the Energy Transition Institute at Robert Gordon University and Martin Simmonite, Senior Vice President at Wood, Operations UK.

With more speakers still to be announced, attendees can expect coffee, a breakfast roll and an invaluable start to their day.
