On Saturday, August 26, the Ellon and District Fundraising Group for Marie Curie will be turning the town yellow as they host their first ever Family Fun Walk event.
Starting at 1.30pm, at the Kirk Centre, participants can choose if they would like to walk the short route (1.5 miles) or the long route (3 miles). Refreshments will be served in Ellon Kirk Centre after the walk.
Registration for the event can take place from 12.30pm on the day. Registration forms can be collected from: Grays, J&K Shoes, Best Wishes and The Chocolate Bar, which are available now. Registration costs £5 for adults and £1 for children.
Marie Curie nurses work night and day in people’s homes across the UK, providing hands-on care and vital emotional support helping people living with a terminal illness.
The Ellon and District Fundraising Group, comprising of 12 group members, who volunteer their time to the charity, was formed in 2013. Since starting up, the group have raised over £20,000, which equates to 1000 hours nursing care. The group are familiar faces in Ellon, having had stalls at the Ellon Gala, Ellon Pedal Car Race and at the Christmas lights switch on event.
