These are exciting times for the region. Momentum is building around the strategy to re-invent the future economy of North-east Scotland to ensure we become a renaissance region, not a museum to what was once Europe’s oil and gas capital.
The Chamber is committed to helping make this happen through our aim of creating the buoyant, diversified regional economy that will enable our members and their employees to be more successful and prosperous.
Right now, we are changing to reflect our future priorities and are on the lookout for like-minded people with a real passion for the region who want to step up and play their part by joining Team Chamber.
We have potential career opportunities for people of all ages and levels of seniority and with a range of skills and expertise. From market research and communications to sales and business development. And from policy and government affairs to education, skills and international trade.
Most important of all though is your attitude. We want to hear from doers, not talkers. Great team players and communicators. Well networked folk with the ability to positively influence. People unwilling to take ‘no’ or ‘can’t’ for an answer.
We represent over 1,200 organisations collectively employing 125,000+ people - that’s half of the total workforce in city & shire making us Scotland’s largest Chamber and one of the top 10 in the UK.
Our members join to make their businesses better and to ‘put something back’ by playing their part in making our amazing city region an even better place to live, work, study, invest and do business. We support them in a range of ways from:
✓ Talking up the area and celebrating business success to lobbying for necessary change (like our Business Rates campaign which won £17m of savings for businesses in the region)
✓ Equipping the region’s workforce with the skills to succeed to helping companies to trade globally (over $650 million dollars of goods were certified for export by our team last year)
✓ Sourcing research and intelligence on our operating environment to providing unrivalled opportunities for networking, business development and best practice exchange (8,000+ people attended our 2017 events programme)
The Chamber is one of the key partners shaping and influencing the key regional development and diversification agendas through engagement in the Regional Economic Strategy, City Centre Masterplan and Board positions on Opportunity North East, Visit Aberdeenshire and Aberdeen Inspired.
We are passionate about our region and aim to have a reputation for doing stuff rather than just talking about it; adding pace by cutting through red tape, complacency and inertia.
