Peaty Nose Ltd and the Inverurie Whisky Shop have come together to launch the Inverurie Gin Club to bring Scottish artisan gins and monthly events to the Garioch.
In 2010 gin sales stood at £774m a year today it is worth about £1.2bn, around the same as whisky. It is predicted to overtake whisky by 2020. With this interest in Scottish gin and new distilleries and brands coming to market Peter Sim from Peaty Nose and Mike Stuart of the Inverurie Whisky Shop have decided that the time is right for the launch of the Inverurie Gin Club.
It meets at 7.00pm on the 2nd Thursday of the month at the Inverurie Whisky Shop in their upstairs Tasting Room. The events are led by Peaty Nose’s founder Peter Sim, with the emphasis on learning, tasting and fun.
You do not need to be a member to attend an event, but membership brings added benefits along with a discount on purchases from the Inverurie Whisky Shop. Tickets and memberships are available from the website www.InverurieGinClub.co.uk
Peter Sim, Inverurie Gin Club’s founder and Peaty Nose director said: “The emphasis is on fun and creating a social meeting place where members and guests can taste Scotland’s great gins, meet up with producers and special guests”.
The Club will also feature other extra events in and around Inverurie and the concept looks to opening in other locations.
