JPR Energy saves 100 North-east businesses a quarter of a million pounds on energy bills

Insch-based energy brokering firm JPR Energy has achieved savings of more than a quarter of a million pounds for North-east businesses in its first two years of business.

The company has identified significant cost reductions on the gas, electricity and water bills of 100 organisations the length of breadth of Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire and Moray.

Roddie Barclay established the business with his son in 2015. Following a diverse entrepreneurial career, Roddie identified a gap in the market for a local energy brokering firm which would provide ongoing customer support and service, as well as identifying the best deals.

He started with just a handful of potential client and now has ambitions to double JPR Energy’s client list in the next two years. Roddie said: “The first couple of years for any new business take a huge leap of faith and a lot of hard work and I am delighted that we can now look back and be proud of what we have achieved.

“What makes me most proud is the difference we have made to these local businesses. So many organisations simply sign up to energy and water contracts that are far too expensive not knowing they could be getting a much better deal or thinking they don’t have the time to manage all the paperwork involved.

“We have the expertise and connections to identify the best deals and make significant savings and we take all the legwork out of switching suppliers and tariffs from our clients.”

The majority of clients have saved more than £1000 a year on their bills. Some have saved in excess of £15,000. With the continuing difficulties facing the North-east economy, these reductions are more vital than ever and the funds freed up are having a real positive impact on the businesses’ bottom line.

JPR Energy secured significant bill reductions for Farmlay Eggs across its 12 Aberdeenshire sites. Ethel Chapman, a director at the company, said: “Farmlay has been working with JPR Energy for over a year now and we have been very pleased with the service received.

“As a major energy user over several sites in Aberdeenshire we are pleased with the savings Roddie and his team have been able to secure for us. During this time of financial pressures in all sectors of business, it is vital that all costs are looked at constantly.

“We look forward to working with Roddie when the renewals for our contracts are due.”

JPR Energy works with small, sole trader businesses through to large corporations across a diverse range of sectors including hospitality, agriculture, oil and gas and retail. It offers a committed aftercare service to its clients.

Roddie added: “We don’t just want to do the paperwork and walk away. We are a very small business and feel invested in our clients’ success. We do everything we can do to support them at the renewal period or at any point of the year.”

JPR Energy’s service is free to clients. For more information on making significant savings on energy bills, contact roddie@jprenergy.co.uk or 01464 821135.
