On June 1st, Katie will embark on the greatest adventure of her life.

Challenging herself like never before for a cause close to her heart, she will be cycling solo a journey of around 1,069 miles across the UK. From the southernmost point of England to the most northern point of Scotland - Land's End to John o' Groats.

She is taking on this challenge to help create something truly special for the five incredible individuals she has the privilege of supporting in Cornerstone's Aberdeen North branch, who are at the heart of this journey.

She has been working at this service for over two years and has found them to be the most life-changing years of my life. From the colleagues she works with day to day, who are some of the kindest people she has met and the five residents, who brighten up every day and keep every day new and exciting.

Katie is fundraising to build a sensory summer house; a personalised purpose-built space filled with sensory equipment and activities designed specifically to support their unique individual needs and well-being. Allowing them to not only relax and engage but to thrive and live life to the fullest while they navigate the world through their sensory experiences in the comfort of their own home.

Katie has kicked off her training with cycling to and from work as much as she can and heading to the gym three times a week. From the 31st of March to the 16th of April, she racked up 97 miles from just to and from work.

While doing this Katie has added her panniers, which attach to the rear of her bike and will carry most of my equipment for the three weeks cycling. If you would like to donate to Katie's fundraiser, then please visit the JustGiving page below .

Everyone wishes Katie all the luck in the world as she embarks on this inspiring cycle challenge.
