Bon Accord Care’s Kingswells Care Home has achieved excellent results in its latest Care Inspectorate report.

Kingswells Care Home, is a Bon Accord Care service based in Kingswells, Aberdeen. The service is registered to provide care for up to 60 people, with 37 people living there at the time of the inspection in January 2026.

This remarkable achievement reflects the dedication and hard work of the entire team at Kingswells, who provide high quality care and support to their residents; making a difference every day. 

During the recent visit the Care Inspectorate praised the Bon Accord Care Home, evaluating the service with scores of “5-very good” and  “4-good” for multiple areas. 

The areas that the Kingswells Care Home, Care Inspectorate visit focused on were “How well do we support people’s wellbeing?”, “How good is our leadership?”, “How good is our staff team?”, “How good is our setting?” and “How well is our care and support planned?”

The report was compiled of evidence from the Care Inspectorate speaking to service users, their families, staff and management, observing practice and daily life, as well as reviewing documents and feedback from visiting professionals.

The final report demonstrates the excellent qualities of Kingswells, with one family member within the report stating: “ I feel part of the Kingswells family” and “Staff know me and I know staff”. 

The key take aways from the report were that staff treated people with kindness and compassion, the service focussed on supporting independence and reablement, leaders maintained good oversight of the functions of the services and staff worked well together and were improvement focussed. 

Overall, the feedback from the Kingswells Care Home report is an excellent demonstration of Bon Accord Care’s values in practice. The Bon Accord Care RITA values stand for Respect, Integrity, Teamwork and Accountability. With Kingswells demonstrating all of these values within their provision of the service.

Kathleen Cruickshank, Kingswells Care Home Manager, emphasised the importance of teamwork and adapting to new ways of working to deliver high quality care. She stated: "As the manager of Kingswells, I am delighted to have received the most recent report, following 2 years of targeted improvement work. Each member of the Kingswells team has played an important part in the success, and I am incredibly proud of the work they put in, how they have adjusted to new ways of working and continue deliver the high quality care that our service users so richly deserve.

"As the inspection observes, the Kingswells team demonstrate major strengths in supporting outcomes for people and always striving for excellence. To receive such positive feedback after such an in-depth report has really been quite overwhelming.”
