Knight Frank support Tenaris in maximising industrial space

Oil and gas service company Tenaris has completed a £600,000 expansion of its Aberdeen base, supported by the building consultancy department of Knight Frank.

A new 6,000sq ft workshop has been built on an area previously used for storage at the company’s facility at Minto Avenue in Altens.

The additional space will be used to accommodate the Tenaris fully automated Dopeless® application production line. The process involves applying a dry, multifunctional coating to tubular connections – designed to improve operational efficiency, enhance safety on rigs and minimise the impact of operations on the environment.

Ian Plender, a senior surveyor with Knight Frank in Aberdeen, said: “We are delighted to have supported Tenaris, having managed the project from design through to planning and completion. The facility is now operational.

“There remains activity in the industrial market in Aberdeen and development continues throughout the north-east. With a strong track record in the sector, we see opportunities for the building consultancy team in the months ahead.”

Tenaris is a leading supplier of tubes and related services for the world’s energy industry and other industrial applications.

Greg Russell, of Tenaris, said: “With the new facility operational we have added to our capacity in response to demand for Dopeless technology. Whilst we service the North Sea from Aberdeen, we are also sending equipment worldwide and are delighted to have completed the construction project to enable us to continue with our development plans.”
