KR Group, specialists in steel, cladding and sheet metal, has officially been approved as a Qualifications Scotland Centre, marking a significant milestone in the company's commitment to supporting careers and creating new vocational pathways within the construction and cladding industry.

As an approved Qualifications Scotland Centre, KR Group is now authorised to deliver industry-recognised qualifications through its own training provision, including the GW2L 22 Scottish Vocational Qualification (SVQ) in Cladding Occupations (Construction). This enables the company to play an even greater role in developing the industry's workforce, providing accessible opportunities for both new entrants and experienced professionals.

The milestone builds on the success of KR SkillsHub, the company's dedicated training division, which already delivers a wide range of industry-focused courses, including NPORS-accredited training in lifting operations, plant operations and working at height. By expanding its training portfolio to include SVQ’s, KR Group can now offer learners a more comprehensive development pathway, combining practical, site-based training with nationally recognised qualifications that support long-term career progression.

Nicola Fraser, Business Director said: "At a time when the construction sector continues to face significant skills shortages and an ageing workforce, investing in high-quality training and nationally recognised qualifications has never been more important. Becoming a Qualifications Scotland Centre allows us to provide recognised qualifications that meet the needs of both learners and employers. We believe that developing skilled, confident and competent professionals is essential to securing the future of the industry and raising standards across the sector."

The company is now looking ahead to the next chapter, with a range of new courses and qualification opportunities set to launch in the coming months. Follow KR SkillsHub on LinkedIn for regular updates.
