Scottish children’s hospital charity The Archie Foundation is set to celebrate its supporters at its inaugural awards ceremony in Aberdeen next month – and time is running out for nominations.
The Archie Founders and Friends Awards, affectionately known as the AFFAs, will celebrate 25 years of the charity at a gala dinner and awards ceremony on Friday, February 20 at Aberdeen’s Union Kirk.
Since 2000, Archie has been supporting babies, children and families across the North of Scotland, both during a hospital visit or stay and during a bereavement.
To mark this milestone, the charity will recognise the individuals who have made the biggest impact on Archie and its beneficiaries.
The awards, which are sponsored by Peterhead-based Jbs, are open to anyone who has shown exceptional kindness and commitment to the charity’s work.
Anyone who would like to put someone forward for an award has until January 31 to submit their nomination.
Paula Cormack, chief executive at The Archie Foundation, said: “Reaching our 25th anniversary is a hugely significant milestone, and the AFFAs are our way of saying thank you to the incredible people who have helped shape Archie’s journey so far.
“If you know someone who has made an ‘AFFA’ special contribution to our work, we’d love to hear from you. Everything we’ve achieved since our inception in 2000 has only been made possible thanks to our fantastic volunteers, supporters and fundraisers. This is the last chance to nominate someone who has played a part in that story, and we would love as many people as possible to join us at Union Kirk to celebrate them.”
As well as nominations, Archie supporters are also invited to share memories of what the charity has meant to them and their families over the years, helping to capture the impact of Archie’s work over its 25 years.
The Archie Foundation exists to transform healthcare and bereavement experiences for babies, children and families across North Scotland, including Aberdeen, Elgin, Inverness and Dundee. Its vision is that every child has equal access to world-class, child-appropriate care.
Limited tickets to the event are still available, priced at £75 per person.
