Blackadders LLP has announced the latest HR Club event on Thursday, June 6 at the park Inn by Radisson.

The events are designed to provide a platform for like-minded individuals to convene in a friendly, confidential setting. Participants will have the opportunity to engage in discussions surrounding various issues, themes, and pertinent topics within the realm of HR and employment law.

The HR Club event will take place on Thursday, June 6 at the Park Inn by Radisson in Aberdeen. The topic of the event discusses the upcoming changes to the Equality Act 2010 impose a new legal duty on employers to take reasonable steps to prevent sexual harassment in the workplace.

Whilst the duty will be in force from October 2024, employers should start taking action to ensure they comply now. This HR Club is going to consider harassment, with a particular focus on sexual harassment.

The discussion will include the steps employers should be taking before this new duty is in force, what is deemed to be a workplace, how to manage workplace relationships and what the penalty for breaching this duty will be.
