Aberdeen-based LHR Marine Ltd has highlighted the value of its more than 20-year partnership with 3M Worker Health and Safety following a series of on-site demonstrations supporting energy sector clients with fall protection equipment.

Over two days, LHR Marine Ltd and 3M visited customer sites to deliver practical demonstrations and hands-on guidance aimed at improving the selection of equipment for working at height.

A key highlight included a live demonstration led by 3M’s Stephen Morris, who illustrated the forces involved in a fall event using a 100kg weight dropped over just one metre. The demonstration reinforced the importance of choosing the correct fall protection equipment, not only to arrest a fall, but also to reduce the forces placed on the user.

The presence of the 3M demonstration van at site allowed teams to see and compare equipment in a real working environment. This approach helped operations, QHSE and procurement teams better understand product performance, its application and the importance of selecting appropriate solutions to protect personnel.

The visits formed part of LHR Marine Ltd’s ongoing commitment to working collaboratively with partners to improve safety standards across the energy sector. The company said its partnership with 3M goes beyond supplying equipment, focusing instead on sharing expertise and delivering practical value to customers.

Mark Cowieson, chief executive of LHR Marine Ltd, said: “Our hands-on approach is a real game changer, giving operations, QHSE and procurement teams the opportunity to see 3M fall protection equipment demonstrated live in their own working environment.

“Seeing the equipment in action at site level helps teams better understand product performance, application, and the importance of selecting the right solution for protecting personnel working at height.”

LHR Marine Ltd and 3M plan to continue delivering on-site demonstrations to support customers in making informed safety decisions. Businesses interested in arranging a visit can contact the company directly.
