LION is proud to announce the appointment of three new Namibian team members as the company continues to invest in local talent to support the rapid growth of Namibia’s oil and gas sector.

Johanna Erastus joins LION as Office Administrator, Vernon Gaobab as Rigging Technician within the workshop operations team, and Amadhila Seveleni as a Valve Technician (Trainee). All three are Namibian nationals who have chosen to develop their careers within the country’s emerging energy industry, contributing to the tremendous opportunities presented by Namibia’s offshore oil and gas discoveries.

These appointments reflect LION’s firm belief that sustainable industry growth must be built on local capability, structured training, and meaningful career development.

Johanna Erastus joins the Walvis Bay base in a key administrative role supporting daily office operations, procurement coordination, logistics, and documentation control in line with LION’s operational requirements. With experience in customer service, cash handling, data capture, and administrative support, Johanna brings strong organisational skills and a professional approach to supporting a growing operational base. Her role is central to ensuring efficient coordination between management, technical teams, suppliers, and external partners.

Vernon Gaobab strengthens LION’s workshop team, supporting rigging, equipment preparation, general workshop operations, and maintaining high standards of housekeeping and safety . Working closely with the technical team, Vernon will assist in ensuring that equipment is prepared and maintained to international standards while developing his competence through LION’s in-house training systems. His position forms part of LION’s structured pathway toward building advanced mechanical and technical capabilities within Namibia.

Amadhila Sevelini joins as a Valve Technician (Trainee), entering LION’s growing valve maintenance and flange management capability. With the establishment of a valve and flange tightening training centre in Walvis Bay, LION is creating clear technical development pathways for young Namibians to gain internationally recognised competencies in a highly specialised discipline critical to offshore and upstream operations.

“Namibia’s oil and gas future must be built by Namibians, with our support” said Andrew Mackay, CEO and Founder of LION. “We are not simply filling roles, we are building careers.

Johanna, Vernon and Amadhila represent the next generation of skilled professionals who will grow alongside this industry. Our responsibility is to give them the right environment, the right standards, and the right training to succeed.”

As with all new team members, the first priority is comprehensive Health and Safety training. LION maintains strict adherence to its Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental standards, ensuring that every employee understands and upholds international best practice from day one.

By combining structured skills development, operational excellence, and a deep commitment to local participation, LION continues to position itself as a responsible and forward-looking contributor to Namibia’s energy sector growth.
