Wine enthusiasts are invited to join Aberdeen Local Wine School for two exclusive wine tasting events on Friday, May 24 and Thursday, May 30.
Both events will take place at the Glentanar Bar on Holburn Street, Aberdeen and will start at 7pm.
The Rioja masterclass on May 24 is dedicated to exploring both the classic and contemporary styles of Rioja wines. Known for its rich heritage and exceptional quality, the Rioja Designation of Origin (DO) offers a wealth of variety that promises to delight and surprise.
Attendees will have the opportunity to taste a curated selection of wines, experiencing firsthand the breadth of flavors and styles that Rioja has to offer. The event promises an immersive journey through the region’s wine landscape, from traditional classics to innovative new expressions.
The charcuterie, cheese and wine tasting on May 30 is an ideal evening for all food and wine lovers. A selection of charcuterie and cheese will be paired with an expertly curated selection of six wines. This event promises an exploration of the secrets of wine and food matching in a fun and relaxed atmosphere.
Attendees will enjoy a hand-picked assortment of delicious cheeses and charcuterie, each paired with wines chosen to complement and enhance the flavors. The selection includes a variety of wine types—sparkling, red, white, and possibly even rosé—ensuring a comprehensive tasting experience.
Aberdeen Local Wine School is run by Anna Ferrier and was launched in August 2022. Anna has worked in the wine industry for over eight years and holds the WSET (Wine and Spirit Education Trust) Diploma as well as being a certified WSET educator. She is looking to bring the world of wine closer to both novices and experts by learning and tasting a wide variety of styles, covering wine producing countries from across the globe.
