Loganair, the UK’s leading regional airline, is inviting the nation to rediscover the magic of home this festive season with the launch of The Nest, a touching new animated Christmas advert that reflects its distinctive Scottish roots and celebrates the beauty of the communities the airline serves.
Premiering on TV and online on Thursday 13 November, The Nest tells the story of a puffin family separated by time and distance. Through stunning animation, viewers follow the puffins as they make their own journey home for Christmas, from the coastlines of Cornwall to the lights of London, across Edinburgh’s snowy skies and the wild cliffs of Shetland, before finally reuniting in their cosy nest overlooking the sea.
Its tagline, “Together is the greatest gift”, captures the essence of the advert, which tells of family, memory, and the emotional pull of home, a universal message brought to life through a distinctly Scottish lens.
Puffins were chosen not only for their charm, but also for their deep connection to Scotland, where they are a much-loved native bird, famously making their homes across some of the island communities served by Loganair.

The fully animated advert captures the beauty of some of the destinations served by Loganair on the puffins’ journey home – including the bright lights of London and a snow-covered Edinburgh Castle – lovingly rendered to show the joy of homecoming that sits at the heart of the advert.

Earlier this year, Loganair was ranked second in the Which? annual customer survey of short-haul airlines, achieving a 72% score, receiving five stars for customer service and four stars for booking, boarding, and cleanliness.
