Aberdeen business leaders were treated to an exceptional day of insights, indulgence and inspiring conversation as Luxe Scot partnered with Diageo to host an exclusive whisky experience across two of Scotland’s most iconic distilleries.
The day began in style at The Chester Hotel, where guests gathered over fresh coffee and warm bacon rolls before boarding Luxe Scot’s luxury 20 seater coach. In comfort and good company, the group travelled through Royal Deeside to their first destination: the historic Royal Lochnagar Distillery.
On arrival, guests enjoyed a behind the scenes tour of the traditional distillery, gaining a deeper understanding of its craftsmanship and heritage. A highlight of the visit was the whisky tasting session with a rare opportunity to sample a 1986 malt, freshly drawn from the cask by members of the group - a standout moment that won’t be forgotten any time soon.
The journey then continued over the Lecht to Cardhu Distillery, with Scotland’s famously unpredictable weather offering its own entertainment - rain, snow and sunshine all in one crossing. At Cardhu, guests learned about the distillery’s rich story and pioneering founders before taking a short tour of the more contemporary facility. The visit culminated in the stunning tasting kitchen, where the group enjoyed a selection of drams paired with ice cream, alongside a beautifully crafted whisky cocktail.
The grand finale of the day was a rare and privileged experience: a bespoke blending session not normally offered to visitors. Under expert guidance, each guest created their own unique whisky, blending malts from the four corners of Scotland. An unforgettable, hands on celebration of the nation’s whisky heritage.
As the coach made its way back to Aberdeen, there was a shared sense of appreciation for a day that blended education, exploration and exceptional hospitality.
