MAC Architects has lodged planning permission for a cutting edge minimalist conversion to an Aberdeenshire Cottage

Recently submitted for planning permission is the minimalist proposal for an extension and part outbuilding conversion to a detached vernacular dwellinghouse in Aberdeenshire.

Intricate detailing with the use of a monotone black palette creates a simplistic and juxtaposed form to the solid granite exterior whilst respecting the envelope from the introduction of carefully placed windows and vertical timber screening.

Internally, the company has stripped back to the concept of ‘defined' open plan living and informally split the spaces with the use of black timber screens and features of birch plywood creating window seats and curated built in storage.
