Deltic Energy has confirmed it is in discussions with three different suitors regarding a possible takeover.

Last summer it was reported Viaro had agreed to buy Deltic Energy for just under £7million, but that deal has since fallen through.

Now, Deltic has confirmed talks are ongoing with three parties - Capricorn Energy, Petrogas International (a subsidiary of Mohammed Al Barwani LLC) and Norwegian company Blue Concept.

Each of the three firms has separately approached Deltic regarding possible cash offers for the entire issued and to-be-issued ordinary share capital of the company.

While there is no certainty any deal will be reached, each of the three potential buyers now has until 5pm on May 20 2026 to announce either a firm intention to make an offer or that it does not intend to make an offer.

A statement from Deltic Energy said: "The Deltic directors will carefully consider proposals from the potential offerors in conjunction with the company's advisers."

Capricorn Energy separately confirmed it is in talks to buy Deltic.

A statement read: "Capricorn Energy notes the announcement by Deltic Energy and confirms that it has been in discussions regarding a possible offer for Deltic Energy.

"A further announcement will be made if and when appropriate. Shareholders are advised to take no action at this stage. There can be no certainty that any firm offer will be made nor as to the terms on which any offer might be made."

Deltic has interests in three fields in the North Sea; Selene, Blackadder and - closest to Aberdeen - Dewar.
