The founder of tech giant Nvidia has quelled fears by asserting there is a "0% chance" AI will bring about the end of the world - before 2030.
Jensen Huang made the comments as several notable figures within the industry have warned AI could kill all humans.
But the Nvidia Chief Executive has branded those warnings "doomsday narratives" and described them as "completely false", The Telegraph reports.
Speaking to CBS, Huang said: “2030 is not going to be the end of the world. There is 0% chance that’s going to be the end of the world.
“It is not grounded in facts, it’s not grounded in science.”
He went on: “You have all kinds of liabilities associated with cyber security. Apply those first and don’t let this doomsday narrative cause somebody to relieve them of the laws that exist.
"Our company’s success is directly connected to the safe deployment of products and services. If we don’t continue to do that, our value would be diminished.”
It comes after Anthropic researcher Jacob Coxon cautioned that artificial intelligence systems could "kill us all" by the end of the decade after stepping down from his role at the company.

Brent crude oil futures were up 1.06%, sitting at $101.40 a barrel this morning.
