Revolut Chief Executive Nik Storonsky is set to become Britain's richest man under a £57billion pay award for turning the bank into a $200billion company.
Revolut, which is also chaired by Aberdeen businessman Martin Gilbert, has rocketed in popularity and in March secured approval from UK regulators to operate as a bank after a wait of more than five years.
Now, Chief Executive Storonsky, The Telegraph reports, is due millions of extra shares as part of a reward package linked to Revolut’s valuation.
Hitting the highest target of a company valuation of $200billion or more would result in Storonsky's stake in Revolut being worth $76billion (£57billion).
A $200billion valuation would represent a substantial increase from the $75billion Revolut was valued at last year.
Storonsky, who became a British citizen after moving to London and renounced his Russian citizenship following the invasion of Ukraine, has a stake worth around $20.4billion using the $75billion valuation.
