Musical comedy sensation Mean Girls will bring iconic characters, razor sharp wit and killer songs to Aberdeen’s His Majesty’s Theatre for a week-long stint in 2026.

The hit musical joins a string of feel-good shows announced by Aberdeen Performing Arts today, with Olivier award-winning Top Hat set to transport audiences back to the golden age of Hollywood from Tuesday, March 10 to Saturday, March 14, while there will be rock anthems at the ready with the Lyric’s take on legendary musical We Will Rock You from Wednesday, June 3 to Saturday, June 6.  AOC’s production of the Great British Bake Off Musical from Wednesday, May 20 to Saturday, May 23 will add the cherry on top of an already packed line-up of great shows heading for Aberdeen.

There will also be plenty of opportunity to get in on the action this November with a trio of hugely popular Sing-along-a film screenings also announced for His Majesty’s Theatre. 

Dirty Dancing will kick things off on Thursday, November 20, while The Greatest Showman will entertain on Friday, November 21 and audiences will be treated to Disney’s Encanto on Saturday, November 22.

Aberdeen Performing Arts Director of Programming and Creative Projects, Ben Torrie, said: “Every one of these newly announced shows is guaranteed to bring bags of energy and fun to His Majesty’s Theatre, with our best local talent alongside the most seasoned West End performers in what is shaping up to be a fantastic season.”

Winner of the coveted ‘Best New Musical’ award at the 2025 WhatsOnStage Awards, smash-hit musical comedy Mean Girls comes to His Majesty’s from Tuesday, May 12 to Saturday, May 16.

Sing-a-Long-a Encanto gives audiences the chance to sing their hearts out with a live host, who will teach some dance moves and show how to use the included props bag.

Encanto is a tale of The Madrigals, an extraordinary family who live hidden in the mountains of Colombia in a charmed place called the Encanto. The magic of the Encanto has blessed every child in the family with a unique gift -- every child except Mirabel. However, she soon may be the Madrigals last hope when she discovers that the magic surrounding the Encanto is now in danger.
