Aberdeen-based creative marketing & events agency Mearns & Gill is opening its doors to the local business community with the launch of a new Brunch + Learn series, bringing businesses together to explore the trends, challenges and opportunities shaping the world of digital, brand and web.

The free informal sessions will give local businesses the opportunity to hear directly from Mearns & Gill’s specialist team, while enjoying a relaxed morning of brunch, insight and conversation.

The three-part series began on September 9 with Digital Strategist Alex Bussey exploring “Staying human in the age of AI”. The session considered whether marketing is becoming increasingly predictable as AI becomes more prevalent, and why the brands that stand out will be those that create genuine connections, surprise their audiences and make them feel something.

October’s session, “How Branding Impacts Business”, will be led by Creative Lead Tom Fitzgerald on 7th October. It will explore how a brand extends far beyond its visual identity, looking at the relationship between brand promise and customer experience and how a strong brand can build trust, customer loyalty and support recruitment.

The series concludes on 11th November with Kirsty Main, who will explore “Using your website as a business development tool”. The session will look at how understanding an audience can shape the way a website looks, works and communicates, and how real user insight can help businesses make smarter decisions and achieve better results.

Mike Wilson, Managing Director of Mearns & Gill, says: “Brunch + Learn is about opening our doors, sharing what we know and creating a space for good conversations. Each session will focus on a topical issue affecting businesses today, with plenty of opportunity for attendees to ask questions, share their own experiences and take away practical ideas they can put into action.”

Mike continues: “We wanted to create something genuinely useful to the business community around us. There is an enormous amount of knowledge and experience within our team, and Brunch + Learn allows us to share that in a relaxed and accessible way. The pace of change across digital, AI, branding and web is incredible, and businesses are having to constantly adapt. These sessions are about cutting through some of the noise, sharing what we’re seeing and, importantly, learning from each other. We’re proud to be part of Aberdeen’s business community and hope Brunch + Learn becomes a regular opportunity for people to connect, share ideas and perhaps see their own challenges from a different perspective.”

The Brunch + Learn series forms part of Mearns & Gill’s wider commitment to knowledge sharing, collaboration and supporting the local business community, while showcasing the breadth of expertise within its growing 26-strong team.

The sessions will take place at Aberdeen Science Centre from 10.30am to 11.30am. For further information or to book a free space at any of the sessions, email info@mearns-gill.com
