Give us the elevator pitch for your business.
Augean operates 22 sites across the UK, including four in Aberdeen, managing a wide range of waste streams. Within this, we provide specialist NORM and decommissioning services. On a previous offshore campaign, we handled over 150 tonnes of NORM-contaminated sand and sludge, including flammable material, through to final disposal within a tight timeframe.
Who are your customers?
We support operators, service companies and contractors across the oil and gas, decommissioning, marine, industrial services and renewables industry. We position ourselves as a broad waste partner, with the ability to handle everything from routine waste streams to technically challenging materials like NORM.
What is the biggest challenge and opportunity your organisation is facing right now?
The market is seeing slower activity alongside increasing regulatory pressure and rising costs. We’re embracing this by focusing on compliance and efficiency. At the same time, the decommissioning pipeline presents a major opportunity for technically capable waste providers.
What is your word of advice for fellow Chamber members?
Engage early when it comes to waste. Don’t underestimate the complexity, particularly with regulated streams like NORM. Building the right partnerships and getting technical input upfront will save time, reduce cost and avoid issues further down the line.
