Meet the exciting people behind our member businesses.
Name: Dave Sims
Company: Scarf
Job title: Contracts and Commercial Manager
Give us the elevator pitch for your business.
Scarf is a registered charity and social enterprise with 40 years’ experience supporting households across Scotland with free, impartial energy advice. We help people stay warm, cut energy bills and reduce carbon by improving energy efficiency and access to funding.
Who are your customers?
Households receive our advice for free. We work in partnership with local authorities, housing providers and businesses who fund our services so we can reach more people and deliver meaningful social and environmental impact.
What is the biggest challenge and opportunity your organisation is facing right now?
Demand. The need for energy support is growing faster than ever. While this puts pressure on our advisers, it also creates opportunities to work with new partners through initiatives like the Scarf Fuel Fund to get help to people quickly.
What is your word of advice for fellow Chamber members?
Don’t underestimate the power of partnership. Collaboration takes time to build, but it allows organisations to achieve far more together than they ever could alone. Through our partner network, we’ve delivered £1.1 million in fuel support to households across Scotland who needed it most.
What is the best thing about being a Chamber member
Access to a values-led network committed to the North-east. The Chamber connects us with organisations that want to collaborate, whether that’s amplifying our message, becoming referral partners or delivering CSR programmes that make a real difference locally.
