Meet the exciting people behind our member businesses.
Name: John Els
Company: Harry Fraser Catering Services
Job Title: Managing Director
Give us the elevator pitch for your business.
With over 45 years of experience catering across the North-east of Scotland, Harry Fraser Catering Services is proud to have supported everything from small private dinners to large-scale events like the Kiltwalk. At the heart of it, we focus on delivering great food and making sure everything runs smoothly so our clients can enjoy the occasion.
Who are your customers?
Honestly, it’s a real mix. One day we’ll be working with a couple planning their wedding, the next we’ll be catering for a corporate event or charity dinner.
What is the biggest challenge and opportunity your organisation is facing right now?
One of our biggest challenges just now is balancing rising costs whilst maintaining the level of quality our customers expect, particularly when no two events are the same. That said, this is also where the opportunity lies.
What is your word of advice for fellow Chamber members?
Get stuck in and have a chat with people. You don’t need to go in with a pitch, the real value comes from building relationships, and the opportunities follow from there.
What is the best thing about being a Chamber member?
For us, it’s being in the loop. When large local events come up – like the Aberdeen Marathon – there is usually someone within the Chamber network we can reach out to, which opens the door to getting involved. It’s a great way to connect with the right people and reach new customers.
