Who are your customers?
Our customers are anyone who has bolts to tighten, pipes to clean, or flanges to machine. While we have a strong presence in the oil and gas sector, we support customers in markets and industries including pharma, food & beverage, infrastructure and mining.
What is the biggest challenge and opportunity your organisation is facing right now?
The biggest challenge facing the organisation right now is operating in an environment where our customers continue to face pressure on budgets while our own costs are increasing. Across the economy, there remains a strong focus on cost control following previous market downturns, and customers expect greater value from suppliers while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and service.
The challenge is finding ways to absorb and manage those increasing costs through improved operational efficiency, better planning, and innovation, rather than simply passing them on to customers. This requires us to continuously look at how we work, identify efficiencies, and ensure we are delivering value in everything we do.
In my view, the organisations that will succeed are those that continue to improve internal efficiencies while delivering measurable value to customers, even during periods of economic uncertainty. By focusing on reliability, strong customer relationships, and operational excellence, we can remain competitive while supporting our customers' objectives.
What is your word of advice for fellow Chamber members?
My advice to fellow Chamber members would be to work collaboratively and not be afraid to step outside of your immediate role or department to help solve a problem. Too often, people can think, "that's not my job," but when someone is struggling, offering support can make a real difference. Not only does it help keep the business moving forward, but it also builds stronger relationships and a more positive working culture.
I've always believed that teamwork is about everyone pulling in the same direction. You never know when you'll need support from others in the future, so being willing to help creates an environment where people work together to achieve shared goals.
What is the best thing about being a Chamber member?
The best thing about being a Chamber member is the opportunity to build connections and promote our business. Marketing and advertising is something we haven't focused on enough over the years, so we're making a conscious effort to change that and raise our profile across the industry.
