Meet the exciting people behind our member businesses.
Name: Neil Conaghan
Company: GoFibre
Job title: Chief Executive
Give us the elevator pitch for your business.
GoFibre is proud to be Scotland’s fastest-growing broadband provider. We’re a Scottish broadband provider on a mission to bring top-quality digital connectivity to homes and businesses. We’re the next big thing in rural broadband in Scotland, delivering ultra-fast, ultra-reliable, and ultra-capable full fibre to towns and villages across Scotland and the north of England.
Who are your customers?
Householders and businesses in rural and semi-rural areas of Scotland and northern England, including Aberdeenshire, Angus, East Lothian, Fife, Scottish Borders, Northumberland and Teesdale.
What is the biggest challenge and opportunity your organisation is facing right now?
It’s right here in Aberdeenshire. We were thrilled to be awarded the Project Gigabit contract to connect around 63,000 premises to our network, partnering with UK & Scottish governments to improve full fibre connectivity. We’re aware of the scale of the technical and brand awareness challenge, as we build our current customer base in the region and move into new areas.
What is your word of advice for fellow Chamber members?
Focus and don’t get distracted from your core plans. That works well for us at GoFibre. Its what’s taken us from being founded in Duns, in the Borders in 2017, to becoming one of the fastest-growing companies in Scotland.
What is the best thing about being a Chamber member?
Learning more about what makes Aberdeen city and shire businesses special and unique and what makes the region tick.
