Name: Tanya Fowlie

Company: Persimmon Homes

Job title: Sales Director

Give us the elevator pitch for your business.

Persimmon is one of the UK’s leading housebuilders, creating high-quality, energy-efficient homes and communities. In North Scotland, we’re growing our presence and investing for the long term, with Aberdeen and the North-east a key part of that ambition. We’re here to build homes, create opportunities and support thriving communities.

Who are your customers?

Our customers are people looking to put down roots from first-time buyers and growing families to downsizers and those relocating to the region. What connects them is the desire for a quality, energy-efficient home in a community where they can build their future, and our job is to make that journey as straightforward as possible.

What is the biggest challenge and opportunity your organisation is facing right now?

Affordability and wider economic uncertainty remain challenges for our industry, but the opportunity in the North East is significant. Aberdeen is evolving, with investment and diversification creating new confidence. Our opportunity is to support that growth by delivering the right homes, in the right places, while investing in local jobs, skills and supply chains.

What is your word of advice for fellow Chamber members?

Keep investing in the region and in each other. Aberdeen has always been at its best when its business community is ambitious, connected and prepared to adapt. There is real opportunity ahead, but unlocking it requires confidence, collaboration and a willingness to look beyond short-term uncertainty.

What is the best thing about being a Chamber member?

The strength of the network. The Chamber brings together businesses that genuinely care about the future of Aberdeen and the North East. It creates opportunities to share ideas, build relationships and have a stronger collective voice on the issues that matter to our businesses, our people and the wider region.
