Bon Accord Centre bosses reveal ‘unconventional’ plans to rejuvenate Aberdeen mall

New Bon Accord Centre boss Lee Austin-Winters has teased an "exciting" couple of months ahead for the city centre shopping mall.

In an exclusive sit-down interview with The Press and Journal, Lee said:  "We’ve got lots of new shops coming in, lots of advanced talks with people for other shops.

“I think the next two months are probably going to be quite exciting.”

M&S launches new traineeship for 1,000 young people

Marks and Spencer is launching a new training scheme for young people trying to get on the career ladder in a bid to tackle the "growing youth unemployment challenge".

Aimed at 16 to 24-year olds, it will create 1,000 training places in the UK and Ireland over the next 18 months.

M&S said the paid scheme was intended to help tackle the rising number of young people not in employment, education or training, or Neets as they are known.

Fizzy drink cans recalled as they 'may rupture unexpectedly'

A high-end fizzy drink brand sold in Waitrose and Asda is recalling cans of one flavour over fears they "may rupture unexpectedly", posing a risk of injury.

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) announced that Dalston Soda Company was recalling some cans and four-can multipacks of its pineapple soda on Friday.

"There is a risk that the cans may unexpectedly break apart and leave sharp edges which may cause injury," the FSA said.

Waitrose targets younger shoppers with new YouTube series

Waitrose is launching a new YouTube series as it attempts to attract younger shoppers and capitalise on the explosive growth of the video-sharing platform.

The series, starting in mid-June, will comprise 15-minute episodes featuring Waitrose chefs and food developers sharing flavour pairings, techniques and recipe ideas.

The premium grocer is owned by the John Lewis Partnership, which is in the midst of a turnaround effort. Waitrose said the initiative formed part of a “multi-platform entertainment strategy”.
