Oslo based Miros AS, a leading provider of meteorological and oceanographic systems and solutions announced this week that Muir Matheson Limited has officially changed its name to Miros Scotland Limited. Aberdeen located Muir Matheson, originally a family owned business established in the mid 1970s, and itself a leading meteorological systems and services provider to the oil & gas, maritime and renewables sectors, has been a Miros subsidiary since it was acquired in late 2012.
“The entire organisation will benefit from this singular focus,” said Andreas Brekke, CEO of Miros AS. ”Miros has been a leading manufacturer and developer of innovative wave monitoring and oil spill detection systems for many years and the Miros name is synonymous with high quality equipment and systems.”
The two businesses will use a common logo and website, www.miros-group.com, and a new marketing message has been created - “Measuring the ocean surface” – which is now part of Miros corporate identity.
“We’re excited about the name change and being more directly associated with Miros. It allows us to fully leverage the broad range of Miros proprietary products, whilst continuing to offer both bespoke and standard package solutions, capitalising on Miros leading edge position in advanced wave monitoring and other decision-support solutions,” says David McMillan, managing director of Miros Scotland Limited.
