Fountainhall at the Stocket in Harcourt Road will host a new edition of the Music @ the Stocket series on Saturday, August 26 at 3pm. Attendants to the event will enjoy a fine combination of Scottish fiddle music and poetry.
Every last Saturday of the month, Music @ the Stocket has been featuring a programme of high-quality concerts and performances by local artists during the last year. On Saturday, August 26, Tyler Martin, Scottish Junior Champion, will play Scottish fiddle music interspersed with Scots poetry read by Campbell Murray, whose lifetime passion for poetry has made him one of the great collectors and specialists in Scottish poetry in Aberdeen. The event will take place in the garden lounge at Fountainhall at the Stocket in Harcourt Road (with the possibility of spreading into the garden if the weather is nice!).
Entry is by donation and all the proceeds will go in aid of Friends of Roxburghe House Grampian. This registered charity helps fund extra services and projects that support NHS Grampian to improve the quality of life in Roxburghe House and provides support and comfort for in-patients and out-patients in palliative care. This event is another example of the initiatives Fountainhall Church promotes to collaborate with diverse social and cultural projects throughout our community. Born from the union of four churches in the heart of the West End of Aberdeen (Holburn West, MIdstocket Church, Queen's Cross Church and Rubislaw Church), Fountainhall Church has become an active actor in the life of the community. As a community hub, their 3 venues also offer a wide variety of halls available to hire for formal and informal gatherings, accommodating events from 4 people up to 350 people. Equipped with the latest AV technology, the 3 sites of Fountainhall Church have been for years a regular venue for concerts, AGMs, training days and workshops, just to name a few. In addition, the hirers at Fountainhall at the Cross (formerly Queen’s Cross) can also benefit from the hospitality services of Cognito at the Cross, the onsite café.
For more information about the halls, contact the bookings team at bookings@fountainhallchurch.org.uk , visit their webpage at www.fountainhallchruch.org.uk or their Facebook page.
