NEREC has once again been recognised at the North of Scotland's largest celebration of the construction industry, having been named a finalist in two categories at the Trades Awards 2026.

The Aberdeen-based specialist cleaning and property maintenance company has been shortlisted for Outstanding Customer Service and Construction Supplier of the Year, marking the second consecutive year that NEREC has reached the finals in two award categories.

Last year, the company was recognised as a finalist for Outstanding Customer Service and Best Trades Business (0–50 Employees). Returning to the shortlist again reflects another year of growth, continued investment, and a commitment to delivering a high standard of service across the commercial, industrial, construction and public sectors.

The recognition comes during a record-breaking year for the Trades Awards. Organisers confirmed that the 2026 awards received the highest number of applications in the event's history, creating one of the strongest finalist line-ups in more than a decade. Now in its 14th year, the awards celebrate the businesses, projects and individuals helping shape the construction industry across the North of Scotland.

NEREC's Construction Supplier of the Year nomination recognises the company's work in supporting construction projects through specialist cleaning services, including builders cleans, sparkle cleans, high-level cleaning, pressure washing and rapid-response support. The business has continued to build strong relationships with principal contractors by providing flexible support, often mobilising at short notice to help projects stay on programme.

The Outstanding Customer Service nomination reflects NEREC's focus on communication, reliability and long-term client relationships. Over the past year, the company has expanded its portfolio of repeat clients across the construction, facilities management and property sectors, while continuing to invest in systems, equipment and training to improve the experience it delivers to customers.

Ross Skene, Business Development & Marketing Manager at NEREC, said: "To be named finalists in two categories for the second year running is something we're incredibly proud of. Knowing that this year's awards attracted a record number of entries makes the recognition even more meaningful.

"We're still a relatively young business, so to be shortlisted alongside some of the most established and respected companies in the construction industry is a fantastic achievement. It reflects the hard work of every member of our team and the trust our clients continue to place in us.

"These nominations give us an opportunity to celebrate another year of growth, investment and strong partnerships, and we're looking forward to joining the other finalists at the awards later this year."

The winners will be announced at the Trades Awards 2026 on Friday 30 October at Ardoe House Hotel in Aberdeen.

For NEREC, the nominations represent another milestone in the company's continued development as it expands its capabilities, strengthens relationships with clients across the UK and continues investing in people, equipment and service delivery.
