NEREC Ltd has confirmed its sponsorship of an upcoming Aberdeen Young Professionals (AYP) networking event, with all ticket proceeds being donated to Student Minds, the UK’s leading student mental health charity.
The event will take place at Revolution, Aberdeen, on Thursday 26 February at 6pm, bringing together young professionals and students from across the North-east for a relaxed evening of networking. As event sponsor, NEREC is funding a welcome drink for attendees, allowing 100% of ticket sales to go directly towards the charity fundraiser.
The event forms part of a wider fundraising effort being led by Ross Skene, Business Development and Marketing Manager at NEREC, who will be climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in August 2026 to raise funds and awareness for Student Minds. Ross has already raised over £1,000 through a series of personal challenges and community-led fundraising activities.
Student Minds works nationally to empower students and young people to look after their mental health and support one another through peer-led programmes, campaigns, and practical resources. With mental health continuing to be a key issue for students and early-career professionals, the charity’s work aligns closely with the values of both AYP and NEREC.
NEREC’s involvement reflects its ongoing commitment to community engagement and social responsibility. The company has previously supported a number of local charities and organisations, including AberNecessities, Glencraft, and SensationALL, by providing support around their facilities, and is actively involved with Developing the Young Workforce (DYW) to help inspire and support young people entering the world of work.
Andrew Bruce, founder and managing director of NEREC Ltd, said: “We’re proud to support this AYP event and help raise funds for Student Minds. Mental wellbeing is something that affects people at every stage of their career, and it’s important for businesses to play a role in supporting initiatives that make a positive difference in our community.”
The AYP networking evening is open to professionals from all sectors as well as students, offering an opportunity to connect with peers while supporting an important cause.
