North East Scotland College (NESCol) has been recognised as a CIPD Platinum Centre, highlighting its commitment to delivering excellence in Human Resources (HR) and Learning & Development (L&D) education.
Platinum Centre status acknowledges the College’s exceptional quality in meeting the CIPD’s professional education and assessment standards. It also reflects high levels of learner satisfaction.
The Chartered Institute for Personnel Development (CIPD) is the professional body for all people professions, with over 160,000 members globally. NESCol has been a CIPD-approved study centre for over 15 years, and has been delivering the Foundation Certificate in People Practice since 2022.
Iain Cocker, Business Development Manager, NESCol, said: “We are delighted to be a CIPD Platinum Centre. This achievement demonstrates NESCol’s dedication to providing the highest quality of education and support for our learners.
“CIPD qualifications are recognised worldwide by employers, and there is a growing demand for professionals with these credentials.
“Over the past three years, we have supported 58 learners to achieve their Foundation Certificate in People Practice. Looking ahead to 2026, we are excited to expand our CIPD offering to meet the needs of our learners and the industry.”
The Foundation Certificate in People Practice is aimed at new entrants to the people profession and those in support roles looking to take the next step in their careers. The course provides learners with a solid understanding of HR and L&D and is broadly comparable to SCQF Level 6.
From February next year, NESCol will also deliver the Associate Diploma in People Management, broadly comparable to SCQF Level 9. This advanced qualification is suited to HR professionals who are ready to build on their expertise and move into a more senior role.
