New campaign bringing Aberdeen Together at Christmas launched today

A new digital campaign has been launched today (Friday November 29) to showcase the magic of ‘Aberdeen Together at Christmas’.

Delivered by Business Improvement District Aberdeen Inspired and created by creative production agency Snap Digital, the campaign shines a spotlight on the city centre during the festive period and aims to encourage residents and visitors alike to support local.

Bringing to life the range of activities that can be enjoyed at Christmas , the campaign has been created through collaboration with a number of local businesses and organisations including Melt, John Lewis & Partners, Marischal Square, Aberdeen Art Gallery, Aberdeen Performing Arts, DC Thomson Media , Aberdeen Journals, Original 106, First Bus Aberdeen, Friends of Anchor, Aberdeen City Council and Codona’s.

Told through the eyes of a granddaughter being reunited with her grandfather at Christmas, the short film aims to encourage the public to enjoy everything on offer in the city centre during the festive period.

Adrian Watson, Aberdeen Inspired chief executive said: “From our festive Aberdeen Christmas Village to the fantastic Aberdeen Art Gallery, Aberdeen Performing Arts venues and the many wonderful local businesses and national retailers we have in the city centre, now is the time to support local and enjoy everything on offer on your doorstep.

“There is a need for us to work together to support local and deliver on our aspirations to bring about change and through this ‘Aberdeen Together at Christmas’ campaign we want to invite people to get behind their city centre and discover it for themselves. We all understand the current challenges to city centres in Aberdeen, which is being felt in towns and cities across Scotland and further afield.”

Kelsey Barbour, Aberdeen Inspired digital communications and marketing manager said: “Through this campaign we wanted to capture the hearts and minds of locals and visitors, creating an emotive connection reaffirming their love for Aberdeen. By showcasing the Granite City in a positive light during the festive period, we want people to take pride in their city and get behind the many fantastic local businesses and organisations we are lucky to have in the city centre.

“We were delighted with the number of positive collaborations we made during this campaign, which really shows the impact of working together, truly instilling the message of ‘Aberdeen Together at Christmas’. We really hope the public get behind this and make their own memories together right here in the heart of the city centre at Christmas.”
