New City Centre Nursery opening August 2019

Robert Gordon’s College is developing a new purpose-built Nursery opening at the start of the Autumn Term at its Schoolhill site. The new open plan nursery will provide year-round or term time enrolment, dedicated enhanced outdoor area for learning and play, extended daily operating hours from 7.15am to 6pm and on site parking for drop off and pick up.

Mrs Sarah Webb, head of Robert Gordon's College Junior School shared: “We are excited to announce that our new school Nursery will be opening in August 2019. The enhanced Nursery provision will continue to offer the same high quality learning experiences in a new environment with our experienced staff to support our youngest children to make the very best start to their learning. Extended hours provide a more flexible offering to families who are welcome to come and visit us to hear more about our plans.”

Nursery children follow the Curriculum for Excellence at Early Level with the emphasis on learning through quality play. Curiosity, creativity, resilience and independence are encouraged so that each child can learn at their own pace, be challenged to stretch their capabilities and supported by caring staff along the way. The curriculum is enriched by Specialist Subjects including Art, French, Music and Physical Education.

A funded provider with Aberdeen City Council Robert Gordon’s College Nursery was identified as having very good practice in all areas in our latest Care Inspection.

Applications for August 2019 entry are open at www.rgc.aberdeen.sch.uk/nursery.
