More than 150 people in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire have enjoyed making connections at a new series of networking events held in the past six months.

In May, leading Aberdeen-based PR and events company Granite PR announced that it had joined forces with Macdonald Hotels & Resorts to create new networking opportunities at Macdonald Pittodrie House and Macdonald Norwood Hall.

Their creation formed part of the company’s 35th anniversary celebrations and uplevelled Granite PR’s well-established portfolio of networking events.

Thanks to a series of free Business Builder Dinners and Granite Growth Breakfast sessions in the city plus Shire Connections lunchtime sessions, more than 150 business representatives have engaged with these new networking, connecting and knowledge sharing opportunities.

Commenting on the success of the events, Granite PR founder and MD Brett Jackson said: “The excellent attendance at all the events we have held so far validates the need for them, and we are pleased to have the support of Macdonald Hotels & Resorts in making them happen at two key locations.

“Alongside our other, more established events these new additions will form an important part of our plans for 2026, and we look forward to facilitating connections and networking between even more businesses.”

Macdonald Norwood Hall Hotel general manager Katrina Wardrop added: “We are proud to have hosted these successful networking events this year, and to have provided the ideal environment for delegates to come together, connect and collaborate.”

Macdonald Pittodrie House Hotel general manager Julie Hutchison commented: “We are pleased to be part of this new initiative, and we look forward to building on the success of this year’s Shire Connections events in 2026.”
