Families looking for ways to keep children active and engaged over the summer holidays will have two new options to choose from, as Albyn School launches exciting holiday clubs this week.

Open to children across the wider community, regardless of which school children attend, the programmes combine flexibility for parents with a strong focus on fun, development and real-world experiences.

Adventure-Filled Holiday Club

Running from 29 June to 14 August, the Holiday Club is designed for children aged 5–12 and offers a more dynamic approach to holiday care, with a strong focus on getting children out and about to explore and experience the local community.

Rather than staying in one location, the programme is built around a wide range of local trips and experiences. Planned outings include visits to Aberdeen and Balmedie beaches, Brechin Castle Country Park, Aberdeen Science Centre, Codona’s, Aberdeen Art Gallery and much more…giving children the chance to explore, learn and try new things throughout the summer.

Alongside these excursions, each day includes a mix of creative play, sports, outdoor activities and team-building challenges, ensuring a varied and engaging experience.

Importantly for working families, the club offers flexible booking, allowing parents to book individual days or multiple sessions as needed. The programme is open to all children, whatever school they attend.

To mark the launch, an introductory rate of £55 per day is available for bookings made before 12 May, after which the price will rise to £60 per day, with parents able to use childcare vouchers or Tax-Free childcare, helping to reduce overall costs.

Specialist Athletics and Laser Camp for Young People

Also launching is a dedicated Strength and Conditioning Laser Athletics Camp, taking place from 20 to 24 July, aimed at children from aged 8-15 years old.

The camp is designed to support both beginners and more experienced young athletes, offering a structured programme focused on building confidence, improving fitness and developing core athletic skills. It is ideal for children who enjoy being active, want to try something new, or are looking to build on existing sporting interests.

Over the course of the week, participants will work on movement skills, strength development, speed, agility and injury prevention, all within a supportive environment that encourages progress at an individual pace.

Sessions will be led by highly experienced coaches, including Performance Coach Mia MacKenzie and Level 3 UKA Athletics Coach, Nichola Crawford.

The camp is priced at £45 per day or £200 for the full week.

Bookings Now Open

With both clubs launching this week and places expected to fill quickly, parents are being encouraged to book early to secure their preferred dates.
