OBR has launched a brand-new menu which the zero bar and events space on Thistle Street, Aberdeen, is describing as it's boldest yet.
Inviting guests to choose their drinks based on how they want to feel, whether in need of energy, in need of calm, or looking for their mood to be uplifted, The Functional Edit – a New Destination for Mindful Drinking, offers twelve exclusive new serves developed by SOBR’s highly creative in-house team.
Featuring premium non alcoholic spirits, functional ingredients and immersive presentation techniques, the new menu positions SOBR at the forefront of the mindful drinking movement in Scotland, creating an experience that goes far beyond the glass.
Ingredients such as lion’s mane mushroom, lemon balm, butterfly pea flower and saffron feature in the new collection, which has been inspired by the romance of travel. SOBR has built in theatrical elements including smoked cocktails, colour-changing serves, flambé finishes and bespoke ice, topped with carefully curated garnishes.
“We are enormously proud of this new menu,” said SOBR owner, Kate Kenyon. “More people than ever are seeking experiences that support wellbeing without compromising on flavour or atmosphere. The Functional Edit is a menu for them, offering not only cocktails that taste amazing, where you won’t miss the alcohol, but that evoke a sense of wonder, exploration and connection.”
“Functional ingredients have been used for centuries to improve mood and energise.” added Kate. “When SOBR first launched last October, we had a number of drinks on our menu which utilised these properties, but now we have taken it to a new level. We’ve refined what we do, thinking creatively about how to elevate our drinks offering and making use of new zero spirits which are coming onto the market all the time.”
She finished by saying: “We will be running with this menu throughout the rest of the summer and are confident regular customers will love it, as well as those discovering us for the first time. We’re also looking forward to celebrating our first year anniversary in the autumn and will have more big news to share about the future of SOBR.”
Cocktails on the new menu include a twist on an espresso martini with Love Mushroom Focus Coffee and SOBR’s take on a basil smash with Blue Matcha. There are also optional functional tonics from Brookside Botanicals from their Calm, Courage and Clarity collection for an added boost.
